“Eileen Flanagan is a Quaker writer who you're going to hear a whole lot more about in coming years. She's just finding her voice nationally–and what a voice it is!”

—David Crumm, editor of Read the Spirit

Eileen Flanagan writes about how to apply the Serenity Prayer in daily life—to accept the things we cannot change and change the things we should change. A blogger for the Huffington Post, her newest book The Wisdom to Know the Difference has been endorsed by the Dalai Lama and won a Silver 2010 Nautilus Book Award. It also made the Top 10 Books in NW Philly list compiled by WHYY, the Delaware Valley's NPR affiliate, as well as two other local bestseller lists.

Eileen is also a popular facilitator and speaker, appearing on television, radio, at national conferences, and on college campuses. A graduate of both Duke and Yale, she lives in Philadelphia with her husband and two children. Read Eileen's biography or book her to speak through the enclosed links.

Recent News

Eileen has two recent Huffington Post pieces, Revolutionary Love, which explores what can motivate privileged people to care about those who are oppressed, and Green Your Money, about a new initiative of the Earth Quaker Action Team to end mountaintop removal coal mining by cutting PNC Bank's financing of it. Both are examples of people changing what they can change, as the serenity prayer suggests.
